Working in the sexual and reproductive health field is always interesting. This week I read a story about the world’s first buy-one-give-one condom model developed by Sir Richard’s Condom Company. For every Sir Richard’s condom purchased, the company sends one to a country in need (like Haiti, for example, where condoms are pricey and HIV infection rates are surging).
I was also thrilled to see that the good folks at Sir Richard’s not only promote safer sex by distributing vegan-made, socially conscious condoms at college campuses along the West Coast, but they do it in style while driving their 1971 VW bus named Lucy. Lucy’s design even matches the company’s packaging. Who knew altruism and plaid could be so sexy?
Read more about Lucy and Sir Richard’s at The Daily GOOD. And if you want to join in on the activism, “like” Sir Richard’s Facebook page. They’ll donate a condom in a developing country for every new click. Like their slogan says, “Doing good never felt better.”
Great to see an old VW Camper Van being put to such good use. Great blog lots of interesting posts
Thanks! You have some great buses for sale on your site. Sadly, we don’t have so many great VW vans in the US.
